“He loves me, he loves me not.”

So how do you really know?

For many girls, they don’t know, when you look at the statistics. Girls between the ages of 16 and 24 are 3 times more likely than the rest of the population to be abused by an intimate partner.  We find girls in that situation here in Lincoln as well.   We care deeply about you as a whole person.  That includes how you are being treated by the people in your life.  Relationships are a vital part of our lives.  Relationships can be amazing, exciting, and full of wonderful things, but for some, relationships can be hard, confusing, and abusive.  So how do you really know if he loves or cares about you?

Ask yourself if your partner accepts you as you are.

Does your partner trust you?  Ask for your input?

Do you feel safe? Does your partner respect you?

Do you have freedom in your relationship to be with friends and family?

Are you being encouraged?

Protected?

Listened to?

Love is patient and kind, it protects, it trusts.

You may be in a relationship that is completely the opposite.  One that is not healthy and one that could lead you to a dangerous path.

 Love is not….

pushing you around, hitting you, or threatening you.

Yelling and screaming at you, degrading you or calling you names.

Controlling you, isolating you, and making you feel worthless…..

Love always protects, love always trusts, love always hopes!

You deserve happy, healthy and hope-filled relationships.

The Pregnancy Center understands that relationships can be confusing and hard to understand.  That is why we speak in your schools to help you figure it out and so you can make good decisions about your relationships.   If you need to talk to someone about your relationships, we are here for you!
